In this thread, we will see proof that how brown bears dominate tigers in wild and captivity. All the information is taken from scientific literature with historical accounts from biologists and other animal experts. This thread is also reply to every tiger fan fantasy who lives in his fantasy world. This thread offers reliability because their is no twisting of accounts, no misintereption of words, confusing of statements and use of shit sources which tiger fans often do. If anybody is interested to see the reality of their accounts revealed so check this out:- domainofthebears.proboards.com/thread/1477/tiger-killing-bears-accounts-analysisNote that i am excluding accounts by black bears or sloth bears whipping ass of tigers.to be continued.......

And it is worth to be noted that all those bears are females, cubs, young or weak bears, not adult males. From a recent scientific study telling the truth:
"However, almost all these bears are the specimens under 200 kg (sometimes rearely exceeding this value), cubs, young individuals and females. Hunting on the brown bear is a risky buissnes for the tiger, as was shown by summarising studies by Seryodkin et al. (2018: 859–860): “The brown bear is capable of not only showing resistance to the tiger that attacked it, but also of emerging victorious out of the fight."

According to N.A. Baikov, tigers only attack young bears since they hesitate to attack brown bears.
"In his book, Baikov stated general rule about bears:
"Кроме человека, врагов у медведей почти нет. Только молодые экземпляры подвергаются нападению тигра; кроме того, сильно досаждают им некоторые виды насекомых и внутриполостных червей."
"Тигр не решается нападать на бурого медведя, зная его огромную силу и злобность."
Here's the translation.
"Apart from humans, bears have almost no enemies. Only young specimens are attacked by a tiger; in addition, they are greatly annoyed by some species of insects and endocavitary worms."
"The tiger hesitates to attack the brown bear, knowing its enormous strength and viciousness."

"Even brown bears are sometimes Tiger-Eaters!"So according to the above evidence, tigers only attack female brown bears, young bears and cubs by ambush on very rarely occasionally, not regularly. However, the more interesting thing to note is that brown bears prey on tigers! "Many years ago, dismembered carcasses of tigers were discovered on Siberian snows. Naturalists and scientists were intrigued. the tigers were hunted by SHATUN bears."

"The brown bear Ursus arctos is a suitable species for studying the variation in the carnivory level at the global scale. Although omnivorous, brown bears are accomplished predators and scavengers, and consume meat whenever it is available. Their diets are diverse, and important components can include plant material (Mattson et al. 1991; Rode et al. 2001), honey (Kalaber et al. 1994), fungi (Mattson et al. 2002b), earthworms (Mattson et al. 2002a), ants (Makarov 1987; Swenson et al. 1999; Grosse et al. 2003), marine and landlocked salmon (Kistchinskii 1972; Seryodkin and Paczkowski 2004, 2006; Mowat and Heard 2006), small mammals (Aichun et al. 2006), large ungulates (Case and Stevenson 1991; Mattson 1997; Reynolds et al. 2002), other bear species (Boyd and Heger 2000), and even other apex predators (tigers Panthera tigris; Seredin et al. 2004). Livestock also provide food, through both predation and scavenging (Hell 1990; Frąckowiak and Gula 1992)."
Their diet EVEN INCLUDES OTHER APEX PREDATORS TIGERS

"Accounts of Brown bears killing or defeating tigers in the wild and in captive fights."Now here is the most interesting part. Tigerfans often argue that there are more cases of tigers killing bears in fights. However, they always hide the reality that all those bears are females or young killed by male tigers. Those bears are always killed by ambush which they say as a "fight" . THERE ARE WAY MORE CASES OF BEARS WHIPPING TIGER IN FACE TO FACE FIGHT, INCLUDING MALE TIGERS BEING WHIPPED BY FEMALE AND YOUNG BEARS! Here are some accounts where tiger perish in a matter of seconds! No doubt, a large bear can kill a large tiger with one swipe of its hammer-like paw. Anyways, lets get started."700 LB FEMALE BROWN BEAR “ROSIE” GETS REVENGE AND KILLS 500 LB MALE BENGAL TIGER “PRINCE” IN CLYDE BEATTY'S CIRCUS".

1972: TIGER KILLED BY BEAR. (NO DETAILS OF THE TIGER)
1981: ADULT MALE TIGER WOUNDED BY A BROWN BEAR. THE TIGER WAS 12.5 TO 13 YEARS OLD AND 168 KG.
Aside from the historical 12 tigers killed and eaten by brown bears before 1973, another 7 Amur tigers were killed by bears in the Primorski Krai and Khabarovski Krai in the period from 1985 to 1996. So this would add to a total of 19 Amur tigers killed by brown bears in the wild.

ANECDOTE ACCOUNT
BEAR HUGS TIGER TO DEATH.
First round, a lion and tiger killed a bull, second round, the tiger kills the lion, third round, the tiger attacked the bear, and it looks like the bear hugged the tiger until death. Fourth round, a horse killed the bear. So the horse was declared the winner. the tiger was most likely hurt and weak from fighting the bull and the lion previously.

ACCOUNT REPORTED BY BIOLOGIST N.N. RUKOVSKY OF A VERY LARGE BROWN BEAR THAT KILLED AND ATE A 4 YEAR OLD MALE TIGER IN A FIERCE AND PROLONGED BATTLE:
"Мне известен случай, когда в год неурожая кедровых орехов, желудей и ягод в Сихотэ-Алинском заповеднике на реке Туныиа бурый медведь убил и съел тигра. По следам и оставшемуся черепу тигра я определил, что медведь был очень крупный, а тигр молодой, примерно четырехлетний. По вытоптанному хищниками снегу, сломанным стволам пихт (каждая из которых почти в руку толщиной), крови, клочкам шерсти можно было заключить, что борьба была жестокой и продолжительной."
"I know of a case when a brown bear killed and ate a tiger in the Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve on the Tunia River in a year of poor harvest of pine nuts, acorns and berries. From the tracks and the remaining skull of the tiger, I determined that the bear was very large, and the tiger was young, about four years old. From the snow trampled by predators, the broken trunks of fir (each of which is almost as thick as an arm), blood, and scraps of wool, one could conclude that the struggle was fierce and prolonged."

BROWN BEAR ALMOST KILLS "BORIS", AN ADULT MALE TIGER, WITH A SLAP OF ITS PAW IN A BATTLE:
"It is said that a brown bear came to attack Svetraya just after giving birth. Boria stepped forward to fight the brown bear. During the battle, the brown bear slapped it with its bear paw. Boris was almost killed by the brown bear. When Svetraya rushed up, the two tigers drove the brown bear away together."

BOOK, THE TAIGA, BY VSEVOLOD SYSOEV:
"The bear, on the other hand, was groping slowly but surely for the tiger's neck. The tiger, agile and strong as it was, was less enduring. It was used to killing instantaneously. It was not adapted for a drawn-out struggle, and soon the tables turned. It was getting the worst of the fight. The bear's powerful jaws closed on its throat. The cat roared hoarsely and beat about in death pains."

Two Amur tigers (females) died in Primorye in a fight with a bear.
March 2, 2010
"VLADIVOSTOK, March 02, PrimaMedia. A probable meeting with a brown bear led to the death of two female Amur tigers this winter on the territory of the Sikhote-Alin State Nature Biosphere Reserve in the Primorsky Territory. According to the official website of Rosprirodnadzor, on January 21, 2010, the remains of a radio-tagged tigress Vera and her radio collar were found in the upper reaches of the Khanov cluster (Kunaleika river basin). According to experts, a possible reason for the incident could have been an attack on a brown bear tigress."
"The tigress Vera was first captured and tagged with a radio collar in 2002. After the collar was finished, in 2007, the tigress was recaptured and fitted with a new collar. At the time of her death, the tigress was eight years old. Presumably she had two cubs, 17-18 months old."
"On February 17, 2010, the remains of the radio-tagged tigress Ani and her radio collar were found in the upper reaches of the Pravaya Poludennaya cluster (the Columbus river basin). On the collar, the teeth marks of a large predator were clearly visible. The specialists of the department also consider a collision with a brown bear to be the probable cause of the death of the tigress."
"The tigress Anya was caught for radio tagging at the mouth of the Solontsovy cluster (the Zabolochennaya river basin) in November 2009 at the age of 1.8 years. At the time of capture, she was walking with her brother and mother. Perhaps the young tigress found herself in the area of the Columbus River basin in search of her own territory. Judging by the data taken from the GPS-collar, the death of the predator occurred on December 10-11, 2009."
"The Sikhote-Alin State Biosphere Natural Reserve was organized on February 10, 1935 and is a unique natural treasury of Russia. The original purpose of its creation was the preservation and restoration of the sable, which was almost exterminated at that time. Currently, the reserve is the most convenient place for observing the Amur tiger. The Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve was also the first natural park in the Far East, included by UNESCO in the world system of biosphere reserves."

"Brown bears are feared and avoided by tigers!"After seeing all that many accounts of tigers being dominated by bears in wild and captive accounts. Lets see some scientific proof from biologists stating that tigers completely avoid male brown bears while bears do not. Starting from Batalov, who said that brown bears arn't afraid of tigers while tigers avoid them.Alexander Batalov.
"...The prizes of the competition are two traps and an annual subscription to the prestigious hunting and fishing magazine “Magic Safari.
- This year, I sent several materials to the competition, filmed by devices installed on my farm, but the video “Brown bear at the mailbox” collected the most reviews, on which the bear leaves his marks at the so-called tiger mailbox - a tree, with the help of which the striped masters of the taiga exchange informacje, - Alexander Sergeevich specified. There is an opinion that brown bears do not appear in tiger lands and do not seek to announce their presence. However, according to Batalov, the video explains that both animals live together on the same territory. Clubfoot are not afraid to make themselves known, and tigers do not mess with them..."

"In short, the bear is the real master if our forest. He walks through the forest like a "goblin" - hoots and scares other animals. “But there’s a tiger here too,” I said. - More terrible than a bear! Is it a tiger? - Danila perked up. - A tiger always wins with his nimbleness, and a bear with his strength. An old bear isn't afraid of a tiger, but the tiger evades the bear, not wishing to meet him."
