I would soon post that account over here. I remember than on starfox lion kills bear thread there is an account of a lion killing a siberian bear weighing 800 or 900 kg. Though it looks unclearly yet if i accept it so it the the largest bear killed by lion in accounts as much as i ever seen. Starfox further posts some info about that fight, that that the same bear before getting killed by the lion had an electric shok a week before and was still recovering from those. The shock had a bad effect on the bear's muscles. I will check that out again. The account is this one, but here it does not state the bear's weight. But this happened in 1908:
So further down the list, Starfox posted this:
In 1903, Bostock had a valuable Grizzly weighing 900 lbs. His animals are kept in great condition.
So in 1903 Bostock had a 900 lb grizzly, So he is just speculating if "maybe" this 900 lb bear is the same that died 5 years later in 1908, thats all. And yes, the bear had Rheumatism.
actually I my friend master shake debunked that lion killing a 900 pound Russian bear, it was actually a cinnamon black bear! 🤣

We dont know the weight of the bear because the article where the fight happened does not state it, the article where the 900 lb bear is mentioned is from 5 years before the fight, so we dont know if its that same bear that died, they just mention that Bostock had a 900 lb bear.
Anyhow, its wasn't a cinnamon black bear, we thought that too at the beginning, it was a Russian brown bear because in the bear gets electricity article its mentioned that he stood nearly 8 feet tall on hind legs, and it would be very rare for a black bear to have that height unless it was a really huge one, so not very likely. "Cinnamon species" was most likely used for his color.

/\ nice point, polar bears and brown bears do not reach full size until 10 yrs old. But the article said that Silver King died in 1931 and we have to get in which year Silver King lived in the zoo for the first time?

So, you guys will often see lion fans saying that there are more accounts of lions winning than the other way around, well that's true only if we count those shit sources, but if take out those religion sources plus those weak polar bear accounts, you end up with only 8 somewhat reliable accounts which are those i posted in that thread. So in reality, the bear side has alot more reliable accounts, like 15. (And this not counting the Roman blood games accounts, the Michel Pastoureau book which said bears always won in Rome in combat against lions)

From the book above, here is a real picture of Parnell, he looks small to me, and it looks like he either had a small mane or no mane at all:
