NEW SLOTH BEAR-BENGAL TIGRESS INTERACTION, THE BEAR FOLLOWED THE TIGRESS, AS SOON AS THE BEAR STOOD UP ON HIND LEGS, THE TIGRESS CROUCHED DOWN. MAYBE A SIGN OF SUBMISSION?

Reply 26# have you any info about Ghensis? He's said to be male but how many years old is him? You mean reply #27. Here is his info, no age given although he was an exceptionally large dominant adult male judging by his weight, 230 kg (507 lbs):
Very little is known of his origin. It was during an evening of November 1983 that he was first sighted near Jogi Mahal. The area was unclamied by a male tiger then and Genghis reigned over it. While the sun was taking a dip beyond the western horizon on 15 January, 1984 Genghis presence was again felt around Jogi Mahal and Padam talao with reverberating vociferous roars. The next morning he was seen feasting on a boar piglet near the lake.Genghis was a massive tiger weighing around 230 kilograms. Contrast to his highly muscular and powerful built he walked with unhurried and hushed steps making him a perfect feline predator. He established his dominance by occasional roaring and charging. Twitching tail was a mark of his manifested aggression. Gallantly he would make away with crocodile kills sometimes, dragging the sambar carcass through the lotus vines and weeds effortlessly... growling, snarling and splashing water all along to keep the massive reptiles at bay. He charged at everything that invaded his zone of comfort especially during feasting, snarls and growls were common warning and if one was lucky enough would also be greeted with a mock charge. Sloth bears are considered one of the most unpredictable beasts of the forest and tigers even keep their distance but Genghis would not hesitate to chase them off when encountered. True to his name he was the fearless warrior ... Genghis.

Oh nice comeback Pablo. So we have three cases of sloth bears owning adult male tigers. 1.) Male dominant tiger Matkasur tries to kill female sloth bear but gets owned. 2.) Mother sloth bear scares away two tigers (Ustaad and his wife). 3.) Male dominant tiger Khali attacks a sloth bear by surprise but gets owned. But as usual tiger fantards will say “NOOOOOO! Those tigers weren't hungry nor serious, they were just playing around, etc.” but when they see a vid of a grizzly running away from a cougar they'd use it as “valuable proof” that bears are cowards. Let's add one more, 230 kg male tiger named Genghis got owned by a sloth bear observed by Valmik Thapar. 4 confirmed cases of sloth bears holding on adult male tigers means that bears are pound for pound stronger than any cats.

Good accounts arctozilla .
I think we can all agree that even in a face to face fight, the much larger and ferocious Bengal tiger would kill the sloth bear 9/10 times. Just at averages, the Bengal tiger is 91% larger:

Now as for their actual interactions are concerned, tigers hunt sloth bears but not many adult males as far as i have read. Indian biologist Yoganand stated that tiger-sloth bear do not seem to have a strictly prey-predator association, and that Tiger activity does not seem to influence bear activity timings., not to mention that there have been instances when tigers have been injured or chased away by sloth bears or both withdrew during such close encounters (Joshi et al. 1999, personal observations).

Also, lets not forget all the videos we have of Bengal tigers running away from sloth bears:

There are also a few videos of sloth bears running away but that's not an accomplishment on part of the tiger as even Bengal tigresses are larger than the adult male sloth bears, the tiger is the predator, so the accomplishment is when its the other way around, when the sloth bears chase the tigers off. We know a much smaller sloth bear can run from a much larger tiger although it seems by all videos and accounts that its the tigers that run away the most.
Having said all this above, if we talk about PURE HEART, its not even close, its sloth bear 10, Bengal tiger 0.

Sloth bears are preyed on by tigers occasionally (rarely). www.google.com/search?q=Occasionally+,+tiger+readily+prey+on+does+and+bears+.&client=ms-android-huawei-rev1&prmd=invx&sxsrf=AOaemvLB_qi1mnEL3A9iaSa5CsXgebWo8w:1637790689423&source=lnms&tbm=bks&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjF3Yji_bH0AhUKiv0HHZOaCvQQ_AUoBnoECAIQBg&biw=360&bih=631&dpr=3 Also the author, Tej Kumar Shresta, is a nepalese naturalist and zoologist. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tej_Kumar_Shrestha
