I thought syseov favored the bear tho? Oh yeah he does. I was talking about N.N. Rukovsky, the bottom account. Sysoev is a hunter/naturalist.
Oh my bad

From @amurtigercenter
''ENG: An adult brown bear is far more massive than the Siberian tiger. It can reach 400, 500, sometimes 600 kg in weight. Tigers do not grow to this size, but they compensate for their lower weight with more developed hunting skills. In other words, a tiger knows better how and where to bite to kill it’s prey. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Both predators seem to realize each other’s strength and prefer to keep armed neutrality. Conflicts happen when a hungry bear tries to take the food away from the tiger. Or if one of the opponents realizes his superiority. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And what if a conflict is inevitable? Specialists have collected some data: about half of the fights end up with deadly wounds for both predators. Other fights end equally with the tiger's or bear's victory. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Result of a brawl depends on the size and weight of animals. A large bear has more chances against a tigress or a small tiger. Large adult male tiger is likely to win against any bear.''
There is no evidence supporting "large male tiger is likely to win against any bear'' no. i already asked them is their any evidence supporting this, they confirmed that there was no evidence. So this was a speculation based on zero facts: Here is the refuting
They also note that the result of the fight is based off of size and weight, so that means the bear would win right?

Exactly. Size and weight is the most important factor and everyone knows this.

Jiren. I see your profile saying debates are a waste of time. I myself has stop debating because I have decided my victor (the bear) and it is always a repetition of the same points again and again. It is best to agree to disagree and move on or have some discussions instead.

This quote was found by Starfox years ago, he said he had a source but was lost thru the years. Since there is no source, i will take it as an unconfirmed quote although everything sounds reliable, even the weights sounds very reliable:
July 29th 1894
Major says tiger is no match for the Grizzly bear, and that the tiger is always defeated by buffalo herds. The Major goes on to say that the average tiger weight is 400lbs few reach 500lb, and that no tiger exceeds 600lbs. "The tiger is a formidable animal, that never a fighter until compelled to be." He would be no match for a Rocky (mountain grizzly bear in a single combat, and is much more easily killed by a hunter. , There is probably, by the way, no quadra-pod on the tee of the globe that can carry more lead or make a more desperate fight than Mr. Grizzly, as he is a fighter under any and all circumstances. Buffalo herders drive their cattle through the worst tiger country In perfect safety, as the tiger will not attack a herd while on the move, under the care of men who shout occasionally. An old bull buffalo will often lead his' herd in an attack on a tiger, which almost always results in the defeat of the latter. The major gives the average weight of full grown tigers at 400 pounds, saying few reach 500, and none exceed 600..."

I think I have seen the account before. Links sometimes get lost throughout the years so it is not a surprise. I believe a tiger can fight face to face when it has too but a grizzly bear will win more often than not.
The more weight advantage the bear has, the closer it is to being a mismatch in favour of the brown bear.

That is a great account green, from Bart Schleyer, the bears attacked are usually 100 lbs less than the tigers and are attacked by ambush. It was posted at reply #4 though.

/\ here is it.
Which is refuted at reply #4. Bart Schleyer is Goodrich coworker and are involved in the same project. Is it clear now?

Reply #200:
Yes its clear. And it just shows that am right when i say that "battle" or "fight" just means ambush. Those words are just a figure of speech when it comes to ambush predators. Tigers basically always attack by ambush, so there is no "battle" just because the tracks (ground) is messed up a little. So Bart Schleyer is right, while Goodrich is wrong in the wording used.
