A gorilla would beat any cats lighter than 160 kgs. Period

Damn, the poll is 6 to 1 in favor of the gorilla, the way it should be, awesome. I wonder, who the fuck voted for the jaguar? That's the losing animal, that overrated animal will never beat the historic animal more often than not.

Here is another one made by NoCap (very reliable). This is a Mountain gorilla which is a bit shorter than the Eastern lowland gorilla:

Both the jaguar and the leopard are at roughly equal HBL to the silverback gorilla, making this a fair fight between big cat and gorilla.

The mountain gorilla seems to dwaft the Jaguar in body size.

The mountain gorilla seems to dwaft the Jaguar in body size. True. In the same way that at equal HBL, the Ussuri brown bear far exceeds the Amur tiger in girth, weight and strength. The same rule applies here. At HBL parity, this is a fair fight. The fact that at the same size (HBL) the gorilla exceeds the big cat in girth, weight, and strength shows which species is likely superior in a fight.

This thread was made because its the largest gorilla subspecies vs the largest jaguar population. In reality though, any of the 4 gorilla subspecies would defeat a Pantanal jaguar more often than not.
