The Peninsula Alaskan brown bear can potentially get bigger than both the kodiak and polar bear from the looks of it. Even though the weight is unconfirmed, Van reaches 1500 pounds, heavier than most male kodiak and polar bears.

So this weight is unconfirmed, but obviously a huge bear, so even if he wasn't 2000 lbs, he could had been 1500+ lbs.

Obese human beings who reach 500 pounds, find it difficult to move. Clearly our bones as humans are nowhere near as strong as that of bears.

Book, Into brown bear country, by brown bear biologist Will Troyer:
"Old males usually have numerous scars on their bodies as a result of such encounters. During the breeding season, matures males often fight desperately to gain the possession of a female."
"A lot of strife exists among bears, fights sometimes end in death, even among juvenile and mature animals."

I remember Big Bonns saying that a male grizzly probably has as many fights (with his own kind) during his life as a male lion.

I remember Big Bonns saying that a male grizzly probably has as many fights (with his own kind) during his life as a male lion. Ursus Artos posted an account which says all male brown bears get to mate regardless of weather they win or lose a fight as younger males prefer younger females and older males prefer older females. Do you have that account by any chance?

I also found out that fighting among big cats is rare (except in lions).

An adult male typically weighs between 300 to 900 pounds, and females weigh between 205 and 455 pounds. Brown bears from Alaska and the Kamchatka Peninsula are about one-third larger than their inland cousins of Europe, North America and the sub-Arctic, likely due to their abundant food supply of protein-heavy salmon and rich berries. British Columbia, the Alaskan and Katmai coasts, and their adjacent islands such as Kodiak and Admiralty, are home to the largest brown bears. Here, mature males can attain an enormous size, weighing up to 1,700 pounds, with their female counterparts weighing up to 700 pounds. An extremely large brown bear may have a skull 18 inches long and 12 inches wide. Such a bear, when standing on its hind feet, is about 9 feet tall. www.nathab.com/know-before-you-go/alaska-northern-adventures/alaska/wildlife-guide/brown-bear/Not sure if this is trustable: One study found that the average weight for a coastal male was around 408 kg (899 lb), and 227 kilograms (500 pounds) for a female. kids.kiddle.co/Alaska_Peninsula_brown_bearBased on what I see, Coastal > Kamchatka > ussuri

Its trustable, yes, because here is a scientific study that includes the age classes that gave something very close:

/\ 899 pounds and 857 pounds, there is not much difference in weight. Stomach content can also make a difference in weight.

#420 in July 2007 with a broken jaw and open wounds on his side.
In July, 2007, #420, nicknamed Genghis, arrived with a broken jaw and large open wounds on each side of his body. Before these injuries, he was a fairly dominant bear often stealing fish from other bears and/or displacing them from preferred fishing spots. With his broken jaw, he was no longer very dominant. Although smaller bears did not challenge him, he would not challenge other bears. His injuries lowered his position in the Brooks Falls hierarchy.

You can clearly see the upper body muscle definition on Van, that bear is jacked. Average Ussuri brown bear vs Average Amur tiger, imo is 7/10 for the bear. But this particular bear, Van, would absolutely murded even the largest and strongest tiger 9/10 times, you can damn sure guarantee that.
