These two animals do meet each other in Southeastern North America. I have heard there are encounters between black bears and alligators but who wins major part of those encounters?

Reply #3 damn that's a nice find there, very rare account. The fight took place 18 inches deep in the water, but that is nothing, you can say its basically a land fight.

Reply #5, awesome account bro. And damn, the fight ended in water 7 feet deep, and the bear still won, that is a surprising detail.

I have searched for accounts of alligators killing or defeating black bears, but i haven't found any up to now. Anyhow, Animal face-off gave the victory to the Florida black bear over the alligator on land:

Reply #7 are you sure Animal Face Off is accurate? Some guys say it has a lot of false informations.

Reply #7 are you sure Animal Face Off is accurate? Some guys say it has a lot of false informations. You know who say that? The fans of the animal that lost to both the bear and the lion, AKA tiger fans, lmao. If the tiger would had won, they would absolutely love that show. Most outcomes seem pretty reliable to me.

Black bears are serious threat to alligator nests and female gators aren't able to defend their nests from them.

American black bears are kind of underrated in my opinion. Just because they are relatively passive does not mean they do not know when to take advantage of a good situation to get food. They are usurpers.

Anyway this thread proves that a bear would beat a crocodilian at the same weight on land. Some croc fans say alligator stomps grizzly when alligators get killed by black bears.

Yeah, and in that account above, the fight ended in 7 feet deep water. Although it looks like they are not sure if the alligator died or just disappeared under water. But the bear was given the victory.

The alligator runs because she knows the black bear will win due to better agility and stamina. American Black bears might be passive yet they do not hesitate to usurp the kills of predators that are weaker than them.
