/\ Nice. If the Russian brown bears are included in the book, the Ussuri brown bear is called the black grizzly. Some books sadly exclude the Russian brown bears.

Now we know that Ussuri brown bears have to engage tigers and other predators that are already extinct.

While most grizzlies do not engage any predator larger than an American black bear, they engage smilodons fatalis, Xenosmilus and probably Arctodus when they existed.

/\ So she was killed by an unspecific bear. I guess that bear is either a larger male barren ground grizzly or even a male polar bear. Sooner or later, blood with be drawn.
